  • Board of Aldermen passed Clarendon Hill Home Rule Petitions for new housing

    Last Thursday the Somerville Board of Aldermen (BOA) voted 8-3 to send the Home Rule petition authorizing the Somerville Housing Authority to redevelop the Clarendon public housing development to the state legislature for approval.  (more…)

  • Photo of a Key Somerville Receives State Grant for Public Housing Redevelopment

    Somerville received $300,000 in state funding Wednesday to advance the development of mixed-income housing complexes in the city. The state granted a total of $600,000 in funding, with the other half going to Chelsea. The money will be used for redeveloping the Clarendon Hill Apartments into new communities that integrate publicly subsidized, workforce, and market-rate housing units. Read Full Article

  • Clarendon Hills Rendering Somerville Housing Authority to redevelop Clarendon Hills, 500 units of market, middle and public housing

    City officials are moving forward with a proposal to redevelop Somerville Housing Authority’s Clarendon Hills with more than 500 market rate, middle income and public housing units. The SHA picked a bid from a Maxwell’s Green developers Gate Residential, which is teaming up with affordable housing developers Somerville Community Corporation (SCC) and the Boston-based Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH) on the 34 North St. project.
