The revised site plan has one fewer building, replaced by a larger central park, and keeps a similar road net work and building footprint. The structures closest to North Street are still townhouse-style apartments and are three stories tall. The buildings that are closest to Alewife, at the lowest portion of the site, are taller than previously proposed – up to 10 stories tall. Buildings A and D are 7 stories tall. We concentrated the height along Alewife based on community feedback; the site drops almost 20 feet as one moves towards Alewife, and these buildings are furthest from the surrounding residential neighborhood.
The site as proposed includes a total of 591 apartments, including the 216 replacement public housing apartments, 80 new affordable apartments, and the rest new market-rate apartments.
